Vote Greg Madden for Alaska State Senate!
I have the great privilege of having served on the Kenai Peninsula Borough School Board since 2018. I work well with the other eight members of the board, though we do not always agree on things.
-
Three of us voted against having Planned Parenthood teach sex education in our school district classrooms, but we were outvoted by the remainder of the board.
-
I gave the only vote against the latest teacher contract because it involved roughly ten million dollars that I do not believe we could afford. The district is now facing a shortfall of over $5 million in the upcoming budget.
-
It has not moved past my suggestion, but I have repeatedly brought forward that teachers who will successfully complete the training should be able to conceal carry. I have brought this up informally and formally for the record, but it has so far been dismissed by the board.
-
Though we do not see eye to eye on many things, the other board members all operate (from the best I can perceive) out of what they truly believe in their heart, and I respect and appreciate that. I have no problem working with people who see things differently, but my convictions do not waiver.

I enjoy being an Alaskan. Born and raised in South Texas, my family and I have lived in Soldotna by choice since 2011. I do more hunting and fishing than I do gutting and cleaning, but enjoy the outdoors and thoroughly enjoy living in Alaska. In my opinion, it's got all the beauty of the South Pacific, but with free air conditioning.
I want to see Alaska avoid financial ruin. When we get government back to its Constitutional responsibilities, we will have a much better financial situation for the future. We need to build up financial reserves. Besides paying back the parts of the PFD that have been stolen from the people of Alaska through recent years, we need to start putting money aside for emergencies.
-
Join me in voting NO on Ballot Measure One. Money flows when the oil flows.
-
When the state ends up with a financial surplus, it should be stored away for reserves, not spent just because it was burning a hole in some politicians' pockets!
-
Alaska is funded primarily by oil, mining and commercial fishing. We need to find ways to encourage such activities and not put/remove governmental barricades in their way.
-
NO new taxes. NO increased taxes. Any tax the legislature pushes for must go to the people for a vote.
-
Full PFD as defined by Law. It's easy to spend other people's money, but that doesn't make it right!
