Isn't it Time to Return to

Limited Government?

A Little Bit About

My Outlook and My Background

  • Democrats or Republicans - regardless of who's in power, we always get more spending and bigger government.  I champion the rule of Law, and the Constitution

  • Government Coronavirus relief? I don’t ask my parents for a bailout because I’m no longer their responsibility.  Why ask the state?  The state has pressing duties.  Where are our family, church and neighborhood ties?

  • The solution to Alaska's economic crisis isn’t saddling citizens with government growth or its inordinate spending. Less government, less spending, less intrusion and less taxation is the answer for growth and development.

  • NO new taxes and NO increased taxes.

  • Any new tax the legislature pushes should go to the people for a vote.

  • Life begins at conception and should be protected.

  • The full PFD as defined by Law, including restoring what was stolen from Alaskans through the previous years.

  • A binding caucus is absolutely unacceptable.

  • Infrastructure must be maintained, including plowing.

  • Legislators often shirk the Law, which is just as unlawful as activist judges legislating from the bench or vandals tearing down public monuments of our history because they personally don’t find it palatable. Shameful.  It is time we restore Law and Order.

  • Law Enforcement should be fully funded and defended.

  • A sincere "Thank you" to all our keepers of the peace and first-responders.

  • Protect the 1st and 2nd Amendments at all costs. No compromise.  “Shall not be infringed.”

  • Move the Capitol to the accessible mainland.  More accessibility by constituents means more accountability to them!

  • It’s time to rip off the mask and declare, “I’m not going to take this anymore!”

  • Greg’s Cell: 907-420-4120  I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Married to Joella Madden for over 30 years.

  • Lived in Alaska since 2011

  • Our four beautiful daughters all live in the Kenai / Soldotna area.

    • Ariel (married to Daniel) Haakenson

    • Aislyn (married to Zach) Keagle

    • Arika

    • Adria

    • Two grand-babies; one is a year old and the other is delivering soon.

  • Chiropractic Physician since 2001.

  • Taught public school 7th and 8th grade Math and Music in Batesville, TX, (way back in the 1900's).

  • Taught college Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Zoology & Botany for seven years with SouthWest Texas Junior College.

  • Earned a private pilot license at SouthWest Texas Junior College, with some commercial and instrument training back in the 1980's.

  • Served on the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District School Board since October of 2018. I serve on the Finance Committee.  We work with a budget well beyond $100 million.

  • Help with duties, including a young adult class, with the Funny River Road church of Christ, where we attend.

  • I try to live every day ready to answer to the Lord for what I've made of myself and my opportunities.

I have the great privilege of having served on the Kenai Peninsula Borough School Board since 2018.  I work well with the other eight members of the board, though we do not always agree on things.

  • Three of us voted against having Planned Parenthood teach sex education in our school district classrooms, but we were outvoted by the remainder of the board.

  • I gave the only vote against the latest teacher contract because it involved roughly ten million dollars that I do not believe we could afford.  The district is now facing a shortfall of over $5 million in the upcoming budget.

  • It has not moved past my suggestion, but I have repeatedly brought forward that teachers who will successfully complete the training should be able to conceal carry.  I have brought this up informally and formally for the record, but it has so far been dismissed by the board.

  • Though we do not see eye to eye on many things, the other board members all operate (from the best I can perceive) out of what they truly believe in their heart, and I respect and appreciate that.  I have no problem working with people who see things differently, but my convictions do not waiver.

I enjoy being an Alaskan.  Born and raised in South Texas, my family and I have lived in Soldotna by choice since 2011.  I do more hunting and fishing than I do gutting and cleaning, but enjoy the outdoors and thoroughly enjoy living in Alaska.  In my opinion, it's got all the beauty of the South Pacific, but with free air conditioning.

I want to see Alaska avoid financial ruin.  When we get government back to its Constitutional responsibilities, we will have a much better financial situation for the future.  We need to build up financial reserves.  Besides paying back the parts of the PFD that have been stolen from the people of Alaska through recent years, we need to start putting money aside for emergencies.

  • Join me in voting NO on Ballot Measure One.  Money flows when the oil flows.

  • When the state ends up with a financial surplus, it should be stored away for reserves, not spent just because it was burning a hole in some politicians' pockets!

  • Alaska is funded primarily by oil, mining and commercial fishing.  We need to find ways to encourage such activities and not put/remove governmental barricades in their way.

  • NO new taxes.  NO increased taxes.  Any tax the legislature pushes for must go to the people for a vote.

  • Full PFD as defined by Law.  It's easy to spend other people's money, but that doesn't make it right!
